3 days and counting….

Well after a panicky start to the week (GET READY FOR THE LONGEST SINGLE SENTENCE I’VE EVER TYPED), when it dawned on me that I couldn’t remember where I had left my passport, then I remembered that it was in my drawer at home, only to find out that it wasn’t there and turning my whole house upside down for 6 hours on Monday night (take a deep breath !!!) and calling the passport office to organise a new one, heading to Glasgow on the train on Tuesday to get a new passport only to be told that it would be a week (We fly out on Saturday) for it to come, then be told because I have travelled down from Aberdeen and they were quiet that they could possibly do it, then getting it at 4:50pm and taking the train home….I’ve now started my packing for my holiday, which I expect, will have its far share of emotions both good and bad.

Saturday 5pm is when I fly out to Alicante with Alex for a week of buying furniture and doing their new place up….

Taaaxi

After being called mr Bruce the toff I walked the lengthbof union street to chapel street. Only to find another huge queue. Do people not have lives I. Aberdeen or is just that there are only 4 taxis ? Anyway……made my way to Davie the bakers for a sausage softie and brown sauce and the got inolved in a 10 minute conversation with the Indian guy (who actually is a toff) who had a baldy head, then a bad wig but has resorted to a baldy head under his bakers hat. He calls me boss – I quite like that !!!

Apparently he used to work in Dubai for 8 years in charge of the, ermmmm, actually I’m not sure what he said, he said it twice and then I just agreed. His wife worked in a hospital, that I did get – oh and that he’s going to India in 2 weeks time to see the family.

If you are ever out late and hungry in Aberdeen, forget the kebabs, pizzas etc just go to davies in chapel street and get stuff from them – that’ll sort you out.

Ps finally got a taxi to take me to the airport !! And the effin place doesn’t open till 4 – Jesus it’s cold !!!

Bruce the Toff

Espionage closed at 2am. I had a wander round to the taxi rank and found that it was queued back to oneills. Stuff that I thought and decided to walk round to the one off Market street. Waited 10 mins and met jamie. No idea who he was but he was delighted to inform me he had just been to Saigon for a meal with his boss and then to the strippers afterwards. Which incidentally cost him £300.

He asked where I was going, and by replying “off to see my sister” he pronounced that I was a toff. He walked put of the rank asked for everyones attention and proceeded to tell everyone that the bloke with the orange case was a toff.

What’s your name he said. Bruce, I replied. Aaaaah. Mr Bruce the toff he struggled to say through a drunken stuper and a semi he almost got from the £300 that he spent at the strippers which would soon be beaten out of him by his wife – he gave us that demonstration !!!!

By this time I wasn’t overly impressed with jamie the perv’s antics and decided to walk back to the back wynd taxi queue.

Xmas Eve Eve

Well…here it is, its Tuesday night and I’m all packed…effin suitcase was too small, coupled with the fact I’m taking stuff over, I’ll be coming back with an empty case !!

Passport…..check (yeah I know…phew !!)
Case….check
Camera….check
Laptop….check

So i’m off out for a few to kill some hours before heading to the airport…..I’ll be fine…What’s the worst that can happen ?

The start of another one looms

It’s Monday night and i’ve been scrambling about like a feel !! Cats are off at Jemma’s for a week. Good luck with that !!!!

And in less than 31 hours (ok ok) I’ll be on a flight to Paris then Dubai.

I’ve got plenty of stuff to type. Maybe even a video blog too.

Forgot about the ´Knee Story´!!

Our first night in….

We decide to have a glass of wine (ok, I decided to have a glass of red, infact it was the red that roy from work bought for me – its 14.5% – winner !!)

We goes upstairs to the rooftop terrace and its really nice, the stars are out, the crickets are ermmmm cricketing and the weather is nice….just perfect for 2 mates to blether shite and relax….only one problem though, we´ve no seats or a table…fear not…the neighbours do…I send Alex off on a reckky and the neighbours aren´t in, so we jump the wall and relax and chill on their terrace and their roof top garden with our bottle of red….

We´re having a laugh, telling stories, repeating jokes that i´ve heard millions of times before and generally having a good time. I decide to nip back to the apartment for a pee….(too much info but hey…)

I jumps onto the wall..onto my bum, swing my leg over to the other side (or so I thought), but what actually happened was that I clipped my foot on the curved wall and started to fall towards the ground…i´m now falling and all of a sudden….clatter, no actually it was CLATTER, and i´m thinking aaiiyyaaah my knee is sore…I jumps up and am like, alls cool, now worries…I´m fine, just bumped my knee….

Woke up in the morning with a knee the size of a football, not able to bend it and I couldn´t go up or down stairs without looking like a plug !!

That happened on Monday night, its now Wednesday night and after a day of shopping for more furniture in Mazzaron, building beds from Ikea, watching another fantastic electric storm, its just starting to get better. There is a bruise nae handy, but its slowly getting better…

There´s no chance of me getting any action……but where there is a will there is a way !!!

Tuesday….

Was basically a repeat of Monday, getting lost in the car on the way to Ikea, eating a hot dog and ice cream, whilst at Ikea, finding out that the beds that Alex wanted weren´t in stock…..at Ikea…we travel about 200 miles or so and end up in fuckin Ikea, eating hot dogs, gammon and an ice-cream !!

Fits at a aboot !!!

We did get a load of stuff….and got back last night and had an early night with some jd and coke……and a couple of dvd´s in the dark (the sparky hadn´t arrived yet !)

Monday……

Up early !!

Jumped into the car and headed to Torreveija to get the keys to the apartment….nothing much interesting happened…oh yeah, meat a guy in a furniture shop called Gavin who was from Blantyre and was an Aberdeen supporter, but was dull as fuck, so we left him alone…..

Finally got to his apartment, all sorted, really nice area, there´s still a fair bit to be done around the area but it will be great once done !!! So…we decided, that since it was still early and Ikea in Murcia closes at 10pm, we´ve got loads of time to fill in and should head out…

Sat nav was punched in and off we set…..now, lets say that driving in Spain isn´t dificult, actually I think driving on the other side of the road and the other side of the car is very natural, but driving a car that is only a 1.3 with no power and a Garmin sat nav that is shit…I crossed a white line (that I shouldn´t have, heard a massive horn go and looked in every mirror, only to see nothing, then a massive juggernaught swerve out from behind me…jesus I thought I was dead….

We were lost, the sat nav wasn´t up to date and now we´re driving on rads that aren´t even on the map !! After 2 hours of driving (its a 35min drive usuall), a stop at the university, so that alex could ask some hot students where Ikea was, the near miss, we finally arrived at Ikea…..first stop the cafe……All filled up, its trolley time and lets go….4 weary hours later in Ikea, we leave in the darkness….we get almost all the way home until the satnav tells us to turn right, which we did !!

We are now going along an unclassified road in the pitch black, with no mention of anything on the sat nav….no were lost !!

2 hours later, avoiding cats, dogs, large werewolves, vampires and the like, the sat nav kicked in and told us to go along this road and at the end of it to turn right, we got to the end of this road, only to find a 15ft high fence and the new motorway at the end of it….shit….we had to turn back !!

We got home at late o´clock !! I wansn´t too happy to say the least !!!

Word of advice…dont put all your trust into a sat nav system and a mate who says…this way….that way…nooooo….or else you WILL punch them !!!!
